Lard seasoning

I wouldn't recommend any lard that doesn't need refrigeration. I tried it and wound up stripping and re-seasoning the pieces with something else. I think whatever they added to it to make it shelf stable wrecked it as a good seasoning medium.
 
Try it. I have some Snow Cap now & use it for cooking & seasoning. A couple/three months after opening in the pantry and longer in the fridge. Historically I've used Armour brand with good seasoning success.
