Left handed skillet?

I don't get around much, but this is the first skillet I've seen with a spout on its right side.

I really like the detail on the handle, around the rim and at the spout. It's 10.5" wide at the rim, 2.5" deep with a 6" handle and unmarked.

Pre-1900s, right? I wonder just how pre-, and also if the three feet might have been more prominent at one time. From the pitting on its bottom, it may have seen some time over a coal fire? This is in as-found condition as it had been seeing regular use when I got it.

I'd appreciate any thoughts folks would have on this, especially some sense of age.

Age, or maker, I dunno'... Sorry.

I do love the squared off pour spout, but I'm a righty. I've always thought the "Fancy Handle" skillets were neat. I have a few gatemarked skillets but only one with the fancy handle, unfortunately it's my Frankenskillet that's seems to have been patched together by a blacksmith who knows how long ago. I still think it's a great looker.

"I don't get around much" Too much snow?

I have seen one skillet in the past with a right side pour spout, sad to say it was junk. Just not worth my $$.

Yours looks nice. Yes, the bottom looks like coal or early high sulfur gas pitting on the base. Still a nice user.

The pour spout is very different being squared off like it is, nut nice.

My best guess would be 1880 - 1910. Very hard to date with not much history back then. A stab in the dark. Hey they did make some very nice and thin pieces back then, and some being better that a Griswold or a Wagner.

This is one of my keepers. 4 photos to the right.

Thanks for the reply and the opinions. Not being a user, I'm drawn by the detailing on CI pieces. The artistry on the older pieces is just great, like the detail on the handle of your pan
