Light skillets

My 2 Wagner nationals are given away to a lovely older lady who loves cast but can't lift it. Going to need more, my mom wants a couple.

Other than nationals, what other skillets are thinner walled and light?

Wagner Nationals, like the economy brand skillets of other makers, are going to be lighter by definition, as they are smaller and shallower than their regular brand counterparts of the same size numbers. They were also produced at a time when all skillets were thinner walled, relative to later, automation-produced pieces. See: http://www.castironcollector.com/economy.php for others.

You're right, My Nationals' are REALLY light. Arc logo "WAGNER" skillets are light, as well as the "SIDNEY" marked skillets.

There are a couple more but if I told ya' I'd have to.... Well, Ya know....

I hate to even say this, but is there an age when Aluminum is in someone's best interest? Both Wagner & Griswold both made some nice aluminum ware.. A nice set of Wagner Magnalite??

Economy lines are fine, just user pans. Never seen any aluminum skillets around in my travels but now i'll keep an eye out.

I do have a 3rd National pan, but it's a weird one. Sits nice and flat when cold, put any kind of heat to it and it becomes a major spinner, like it has a saggy bottom. Keeping it for baking and camping, useless for stove top.

Thx.

I don't know if it's true of them in general, but I have one Wapak, and it is significantly lighter than all my other brands. It's my go to skillet for most things.
