My mom found this over the weekend and sent me pictures, however she didnt send inside pics. It appears brand new with label still inside, exterior appears unused with some surface rust but would clean up easily. I went to look at it today, and something seems off on the inside, does it look like someone took a grinder to it? or is that original?

ok i thought it looked a little too good to be a backyard job, but i havnt seen an unused piece yet, other than new lodge so i wanted to make sure, i will go back and grab it as it has the correct lid, and label with it for a decent price

went back to get it, set it on a glass case in the store and it wobbled a bit, not horrible but more than a lot of used pans i find. i dont understand, it appears unused, how can it be warped? i found a straight edge and held it to the bottom and its higher in the center than the heat ring, heres pics of the rest of the pan.

I have pans with off-center humps on their bottoms which I think were just made that way. They don't spin like a warped pan, just "swivel" a bit on the high spot. How it occurs from one pan to the next using the same pattern is hard to say.

Depends. If you want a user, a new one, unpolished would run you ~ $34 from Amazon, shipped free with Prime. If just frying chicken, polished wouldn't matter.

i dont really need it, i was going to purchase it because of the un-used condition, and the label. is it worth purchasing at that price, cleaning and restoring, and then it holding value or maybe gaining?

Even with label, I doubt it will appreciate much. Clean it, and it's no longer truly NOS.
