Long Griddle Identification.

I hope someone here can idee this griddle. I bought it about 30 years ago +/- at a yard sale in Los Angeles. Been using it ever since for flapjacks, bacon, eggs, etc., both at home and in camp. Cooks great.

I did a search for griddles but had no luck with identifying this one of mine.

It is 19½" long (excluding the handles which are 1¼" long) by 9½" wide. There are no markings anywhere except on the bottom. Not a good picture but the number "8" is raised and about ¾" long. To the right is a small upper case letter ,"A" with the point of the "A" pointing at approximately 1:00 toward the "8." Those are all the markings.

There is a small casting flaw to the right, center, but it is not a mark.

I'm afraid my photography skills are not as good as some here. :D

Thanks for any help.

The handles, raised size number, and molder's mark feel like Lodge, but all the old catalogs list their #8 long griddle as being 9-3/4" x 20-1/2".

Doug I would have said early Wagner as the handles look like a few Wag. But I have never seen a raised number in the bottom. Was it common for Lodge to have the raised number? Most all the lodges I have seen have an inset number. Also do you have a time frame it would have been made? TY.

Charles_K, your photo is better than none, interesting griddle.

I measured it again, this time with a yard stick. The overall length, including the handles, is 22". The width is 9¾". Whatever brand it is, Wagner, Lodge, etc., it certainly produces some mighty fine eats. :-D

Gentlemen, thank you for your information.

Doug D., the length across the bottom of my griddle, outer edge to outer edge, is exactly 19¾".

By the way, here is a close up of the raised number and letter.
