Long Term CI Storage

Hello Cast Iron Collectors.
I have found a few pieces of cast iron cookware that I need to store for several years, before I give them to my kids. What is the best way to store the Cast Iron, if it is to be in storage for several years?

Best case scenario would be for them to be cleaned to bare iron but not seasoned, then coated with a layer of mineral oil or perhaps beeswax, both of which can be removed without too much trouble. Then proceed with a regular seasoning.
