Looking For Thoughts On The Red and Blue Books...

Hi, I'm a small time collector only really interested in pans and skillets. I was wondering if investing in either or both of The Book of Wagner/Griswold books by Smith and Wafford is worth it? Part of me says the information in this site will provide my needs i.e. identifying what is collectable or not.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Dan....We all start out as small time collector and we find ourselves with a dozen pieces before you know it.
I had both books and ended giving my 72 yr. old cousin my Red Book because she has a lot of WW and there are better and more ID's in the RB for Wagner.
I know most everyone these days have the iPhones that can access the internet and help in their search when looking for CI away from home. I have the "old" flip phone which does not have that feature. I can just hear everyone laughing now but the phone does what I want it to.
Throwing your book/s in the back seat when on a short day trip has its advantages especially if you can't ID your piece on the iPhone.
Not every piece of collectable CI is listed in the books and not every piece of CI is shown here on CIC.
The BB has excellent data regarding Griswold pieces, iron and aluminum and if I had to pick just one it would be the BB.
Good luck on your collecting...
