Marietta, PA, 9 in

Hello everyone. I'm not really a collector but cast user. I have 2 pieces that I use all the time but have finally decided to get some history if there is any. The first is a 9 in with Marietta, PA on the bottom. Second is a flat, round piece that has no markings. Appears to have been forged in a garage. Not looking for value, just any history. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have no idea about the griddle, but the skillet is one or the other.

Marietta Casting Co. - Marietta, PA
Marietta Hollowware and Enameling Co. (M.H.& E.Co.) - Marietta, PA

I've been eyeballing Marietta pots on eBay for a long while.

Here's a skillet that has similar marking to yours, but marked "R & Co" which doesn't match either of the names listed above. ??

Here's one with the EXACT markings as yours, but a No. 8

Marietta Casting Co. Incorporated in 1889 according to this .

The Marietta Casting Company was incorporated April 3, 1889, for the purpose of manufacturing hollowware and other products of iron.

But I don't know if yours is MCC Inc.

Lots of the pots I see for sale are enameled, and marked
MARIETTA.C.Co.
PA

SO, wild guess, yours is Marietta Casting Co. ? Maybe? I'm sure someone will come along with a much closer guess, and maybe a real answer.

I will give you this: Griddle, looks pretty rough, might be a re-cast. It's hard to tell without more photos. Skillet looks real enough, but also, more photos would be nice. Photo of top, and where we can see the pour spout(s)

For your eyes. Here is another piece from Mariette, PA.

3 photos to the right.

The whole reason I've been looking at Marietta pots is because I want to be able to cook chili in larger quantities. They make large pots. The largest pot I currently have is a No. 10 Wagner round roaster (8-Qt). Grocery shopping Fri. and the store had a display of 40 Qt. sauce pots with lids for $20. Aluminum, and thin... **Shudder** That 4 gallon would be great.
