Martin hamburger logo question

I'm on my way home and stopped at two stores. The first was the wood stove place where I found the arc Lodge #8 lid a couple of weeks ago. Today I found a #7 Martin hamburger logo skillet hiding under a pile of stuff. (I'll post more about that later). It was light as a feather (but cracked).

At the second store I found a #8 Martin (these are the only two Martin's I have ever seen!)

Anyway, the #8 is considerably heavier than the #7. Why would there be that much difference? The hamburger logo was used for 30 years. Would the weight difference mean the lighter one was made closer to 1920 and the heavier one closer to 1950?

Probably more do to with just variation from pattern to pattern with Martin than period of manufacture. I have several #3 Monday Morning Martins and they're all a bit different. A #12 Martin I have weighs a ton. Sorting through a stack of similar size skillets the other day I noticed a #5 diamond logo Favorite/CHF was quite heavy compared to the others.
