There is a very interesting post here from a fellow who claims to have worked is several US foundries which produced CI cookware, among other things. Scroll down to the post by Country Boy dated April 16, 2012 at 9:32 AM. It would be interesting to question this fellow about the brand names that he helped produce

Wow that is very interesting!
Finding goog quality is getting harder and harder to find, unless you are willing to pay the big bucks.
I will stick with the vintage and antique cast iron.

It's funny, one of the posters in response to someone talking about not liking the Chinese cast iron said he ought to buy some of the stuff made in Mamou, Louisiana.

That's the "Cajun Classic Cookware" location. IIRC all of their cast iron cookware is cast for them in China. :chuckle:
