Mi-Pet dutch oven

I am on a road trip 300 miles from home and hitting every antique and resale shop I can find. I found a shop in Bandera, TX that had at least 100 pieces but nothing I was looking for. I highly recommend visiting their antique mall if you are ever in Bandera. I am further down the road now and checked in to my hotel for the night. I found a shop close to the hotel that has a Mi-Pet dutch oven in great shape. The pot has all the markings you would expect but the beehive top has no markings at all.

I have two questions. Is the beehive top a match for the fully marked bottom? They are asking $75 for it but they are having a memorial day 20% off sale so I can get it tomorrow for $60.00. E Bay has no comps. Does anyone know if that is a fair price?

My brother's Fiancee has a Mi-Pet oval roaster and a Mi-Pet DO. Both have a fully marked bottoms and unmarked beehive lids. I have no idea what one should be priced at but $60 seems reasonable.
 
Of the three with beehive lids, the Crescent is supposed to be the only marked one, and that's just a pattern number. If no condition issues, $60 sounds alright, and especially if you do as I do and say, "Cash?" and they say, "OK".

Well, it was still there and still 20% off so I bought it. It needs cleaning but its not very bad and should clean up pretty quickly.

Can anyone tell me if the cooking surface is supposed to be ground smooth? It looks rough with all the crud on it.

This is of my future Sister in-law's DO. I recall from the last time I looked at them there wasn't a lot of seasoning build-up inside or outside of either piece. Certainly not enough to cover the amount of bumps yours has. I'd say hers were machined.

I agree with you. Mine is a little smoother now, with the crud off, but it was not machined.
