Picked up a very nice LBL Griswold #8 for $20 at an antique mall yesterday, and today found a hinged lid LBL Griswold fryer at an estate sale for $40

Thanks. I was one of the first ones in when they opened the doors. I was standing at the stove, inspecting a couple of small pans (a BSR and something else) when this guy comes up and pushes his way in and picks up the fryer and starts looking it over. I said something like "Would you mind waiting until I'm finished looking at these?". I thought it was rather nervy of him to push his way in like that, but he took the hint and I scored the pan.
 
You would come in handy during Black Friday Sales. You know, the ones where people trample others to get the item first. Honestly though, good find.

Heh heh! Yeah, I guess I wasn't afraid to speak my mind, but I did think that was pretty rude of him. I was checking out the stuff on the stove top, not just the one pan that I had in my hands at the moment. I can't hold onto everything!

I let him have the other skillets, but I don't think he wanted them. He did get a very nice set of Pyrex though.
 
It was rude of him, he should have excused himself or asked you first. To quote a song, you can't always get what you want, but you get what you need. He needed to be looking at Pyrex lol. As for me, I want to hold onto everything even if my budget says moderation.
 
I haven't seen a #8 LBL for less than $50 lately. I did grab a #11 Wagner for $45. Its got coal damage, but I didn't have one.
 
I just want to know what you are going to do with the jar of Sorghum and nuts in the background? Where I come from those would be eye candy...

Heheh! Actually, that is a jar of sorghum and a jar of dried chilis. The sorghum came from my recent visit to Tennessee, where I watched some Mennonites boiling it down. Good stuff!
