Neat Hot Plate

Neat little hot plate I got today. Fasteners appear all original and there are no cracked, broken, or missing pieces except for the gas valve as far as I can tell. The W.M. Crane Co. is in the foundry database, but there is basically no info and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot else where online. It does say Vulcan on it, but if that is connected to today's Vulcan line of stoves I am not sure. Anyone got any info on this company or this little hot plate?

Do a Google Books search for W.M. Crane, leave off the Co. (You end up getting tons of results for anything with Co. in them as well.

This is one result, See also the previous page.

There is much more to learn. Make sure that when searching, Click the {Search Tools} button then click Free Google eBooks. That's where the old gold is.

Have Fun.

Also, Google Patent Search for WILLIAM M. CRANE, or W.M. Crane, and you can see his gas stove patents.

Thanks for the help, RickC. I'll have to delve into that some more.

Hilditch, I don't know the answer to that question, but it seems that CI sells for more when restored. As far as this thing goes, I have no idea what it's worth.
