Need a bit of help. And Hello!!! Also a bit about me. Maybe a couple other things, who knows.

So first a bit about me. I remember my Grampa and Grandma using their cast irons when I was a kid. The first cast iron I ever used was this small one with little spirals when I was 7 and still have to this day. But more about that little guy some other time.

I started grabbing cool pots and pans here and there at garage sales and flea markets because I love the thought of the meals that have been made in them that brought joy to the people eating. Some just because the look cool, and some because I want to save them and bring them back to life.

Recently I came across a box of things that was left to me from my Grandma that I haven't seen in a couple decades. I was hoping I could get some information on it. What is it, when it was made, did it have a lid I might be able to find, etc. Anything yall might know about it. The only markings on it say "ERIE" 9.

I'd like to bring it back to it's glory and start using it again. I'm so excited to go through some of the goodies I've found!

Thanks,
Red

I think the 9 is kinda hard to find. ERIE cast iron for the most part is highly collectable. I think is called a bean pot or Gypsy pot...Im not sure.

Griswold just called it a "regular kettle". It was made into the 1930s, in sizes 6 thru 9. No lid was supplied, although one was with the flat bottom version. If a lid was needed, a third party tin one was probably used.
