Long story short, thought I found a nice Griswold chicken fryer but after I cleaned it up, I’m not sure if it’s even the real thing. Someone took a grinder to the bottom and the handle doesn’t look like my other Griswold skillets. Any help on it is appreciated.

I can see the pics... but not in enough detail to figure out what's going on with that pan... wow someone really did some work on the bottom of that poor pan... almost ground the whole logo off. not seeing any 'erie' or erie pa, usa ... or even a pattern number on there... I believe the griswold number for the chicken fryer is 777...

?

Lots of red flags on this one. I can't be certain but it looks like a recast. If the handle pictured is on the right (last pic) for this pan it would solidify my belief that it is not genuine. Regardless some one really went nuts with a grinder.
