Need help identifying smooth bottomed skillet marked 8 inch skillet and E

Hello All -

I just purchased a small cast iron skillet at a Goodwill that I would like help identifying its history. It is small, very smooth, and seems light in comparison to what you can currently buy. It has a smooth bottom. The bottom is marked at the 6 o'clock position with the words 8 inch skillet and the letter E below that. Also, there is a letter E on the underside of the handle.

I love cooking with cast iron and am just interested in learning something about this skillet's history.
