Need help - is this Fish Fryer worth buying?

Hey guys, this is my first post, so forgive me if I post these pictures incorrectly, etc.!

I am at an antique store. Having just purchased a Lodge Sportsman Grill recently, I'm thinking I really "need" this Fish Fryer! But, I'm curious, can it be saved/restored to a user? It has a little pitting, but maybe that is just the rust buildup? It looks like it might have 3052 stamped on the bottom. It also looks like it has a big "A" next to the number. Or maybe that's an X? Also, they are asking $49.50. Seems a little high. So, what so you? Should I buy it? And can it be restored with the Self-Cleaning Oven method? Or soak it in Easy-Off? I have an e-tank (actually a big paint bucket) but it is too small for this piece.[URL=http://s36.photobucket.com/user/shendrick3/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps4lrpdcz8.jpeg.html][COLOR="Silver"]

I bought it! $47 plus tax. Thanks for the link to the BSR reference.

Here is another picture of the handle. Definitely says Sportsman on it.

It's not perfectly flat on the bottom. It rocked just a little when I set it on the checkout counter. But not bad. If I can get it cleaned up, it should work fine.

Has a bunch of pitting but it should clean up nice. The square handle ones did not have covers but starting with the round handles ones they did.
