I picked up this old Dutch oven at a thrift store for $25 and found this note inside. It has no markings except for what looks like a No. 1 on the handle. I believe it to be an old Lodge Dutch Oven but I am not sure. It is not for sale as I plan on using it while camping. Any help with the identification would be appreciated.

Here is the cool story.

A note was found inside that said the following" My Grandma used to run a gas station in Nevada and was given this pot by a local miner. She gave it to my grandma (Pearl Palazzo) who gave it to my mom Pearl Ruth, who in turn gave it to me". (Laurie).

As far as I have determined Pearl Ruth died in 2021at age 84 making Laurie ( the one who wrote the note at least in her 60's). If my estimations were correct that would put Great Grandma (unknown name) as born approximately in the early 1900,s or even earlier. Assuming she owned a gas station in her 30's this would put the Dutch oven around the early 1900's depending upon how long the miner had it before he gave it to Grandma.

Anyway, I thought the story was cool and now I can assume this Dutch Oven has at least 100 years of seasoning and should make for some great cookin. !!!
