Impressive. Seeing yours reminded me of how I store pieces with lids on them. A piece of 1/8” leather cut 1 x 3”, fold in half & squeeze in vice to create a crease. It goes on the edge of the vessel, held by the top so it can breath a little.
James...Good collection. I'm going out on a limb here and assume your garage is (not) climate controlled? If so I will bet you'll have issues with moisture exposure and dust.
This subject has been discussed before here in CIC and general consensus was to keep these pieces protected as much as possible once cleaned and seasoned. Your garage also appears to be a modified work space which there again exposes all those pieces to what ever you're working on.
I'm attaching a link to the display racks I have done over the last six months that are inside my house and climate controlled year round. With a little thought and the right place in your home I bet you could make something similar.
Good luck... http://www.castironcollector.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3593
MDFraley, Thank you for the advise and great pictures. You are correct in your assumptions of the garage, but seeing as the wife took over the kitchen to display her collection of cookie jars, I count myself lucky I have the garage!
