If a web search for the answer to your cast iron cookware question has brought you directly to this forum, the information you seek may be covered in one of the many reference topics featured on the main website.
Went out Yale sale today and pick up another cast iron item , this look like a unmarked wager ware Lid , Not sure about the circa , plus not sure about the bottom part. Any comment , paid 5 bucks , I could not pass it up , did I do ok?
The bottom is a Vollrath, but looks like the bail has been overheated and lost its tempering. Remember that to best help you make an identification, photos should show the entire piece including handles or attachments; close-ups of parts are not as useful.
Thank you Doug, what you mean overheated and lost it tempering , you are correct , I will post overall pics instead of close-up makes total sense ,I really like this forum and you guys are amazing
Your shopping karma is in good shape, Miguel!
Does anyone know how you could overheat the bail without trashing the pot? That is exotic... I now have even more respect for Vollrath CI.
