That is what I was reading. I didn't believe there would be a way to date it. Has anyone ever thought of putting an informational book together? I for one, would buy it.Vintage CI is never able to be dated to an exact year, but estimates of a date range down to a decade can often be made. Favorite Piqua's period of hollowware production was short, 1916 - ca. 1934. Early pieces just had a block lettering; the smiley logo coming in the later years.
I am not so much a collect or cast iron, but a collector of information. Thank you.Anyone collecting cast iron cookware should definitely get the Red Book and the Blue Book as a minimum.
It is now on my "to buy" list behind necessary items such as food and parts for my car. It joins the wait list including the Iliad and the Odyssey, because my copies got damaged.Lots of information in RB and BB.

My damaged waffle iron is marked Feb. 22, 1910.
