New to cast

Good day. I'm still rather new in the world of cast but learning quite quickly.

I've already restored two very nice skillets, one Griswold and the other a Birmingham. I started working on two Wagner's yesterday.

Also yesterday, my wife comes home from her late mothers house and has a trunk full of cast. I immediately identified a beautiful Griswold which I will work on next.

However, there are two pieces that I cannot seem to find anything about. One is a fry pan/griddle and the other a sauce pan.

Here's just a quick snap shot of the two.

Both should clean up nicely and maybe reveal more. The only markings I can find at this time are on the griddle itself. There is a "8" on the bottom and it has little "legs". There is something on the handles but that probably won't reveal itself until cleaned.

She says that they have been tucked away in the attic forever. I'll get more pics and post later for better id.

I know skillets and gem pans seem to pretty commonly identified but if someone could shed some light on fry pans/griddles and sauce pans...that would be great.

Thanks

JMay,
Not a whole lot to go by looking at the pic's you posted....The Sauce pan could be a BSR and quiet possibly the griddle/pan also.
I'm having some issues w/ the internet today(rain in Texas) and can't copy the BSR web site to refer you to.
I think it's (Cast Iron Chaos Birmingham Stove & Range) which has a great reference to the BSR pieces.
Re-post when you get them clean and be sure to take some pic's of the bottoms also.

JMay,
Not trying to put words in Michaels mouth but I think what he is saying that pictures need to show the entire pan, top and bottom. I agree that the bottom pan looks a little like a BSR fish fryer for their Sportsman Grill but it appears to have a pout spout and I really cant tell how deep it is. The sauce pan is very much like the BSR sauce pans I have EXCEPT it has one pour spout. The BSR sauce pans I have do not have any pour spouts except the #3 which has an assist tab opposite the single spout. The loop handle says BSR but the single spout is new to me. I'm not saying it isn't BSR, just that I haven't seen any like yours.

The web site he was referring to is: http://www.modemac.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl/Saucepans_by_Birmingham_Stove_and_Range

I would like to see more photos it possible.

Jack
