No. 602 gas burner

I was wanting to know if I should put this into my e-tank? I bought it to use it, make a good fish fryer. At same time I don’t want to destroy it’s value or ruin it’s functionality.

Thanks again, I hope so. Do you know if the nickel or chrome finishes can be e-tanked? Or will it destroy them as well.

Take it all apart piece by piece and into the e-tank. Refinish and reassemble. Do a search of Griswold stoves here as I posted my journey.

As for nickel or chrome finishes in the e-tank, my experience has been fine and with no issues, But has always been my last resort to use the e-tank. The only reasons that you would need to put plated pieces into the e-tank is for rust and or old build-up. Rust means that the plating has been comprised, old build-up can be removed with out the e-tank. Your call. As for myself I try and stay away from plated pieces for one reason because, rust means that the plating has been comprised and you can not fix the plating.

Good luck and post photos of your journey with the stove.

In my opinion, it just isnt worth the time or money. Its very hard to find a plated piece thats in perfect shape. Good luck tho if you try it. Plus, im not sure the plating would be food safe?

Restoring pretty much anything is a question of time and/or money, unless you just really want it done. Food safe plating might be a question of finding the right shop. Or, maybe it was never food safe.

I was actually thinking of some of the parts on the stove though.

Is there a reason not to take rusted plated parts to a plating shop to get them stripped and re-plated?
Are you talking skillets and gem pans? Have you ever had anything plated, very expensive. For skillets and gem pans, I would not spend the $$$. Don't take this wrong, some things are worth it. I have spent way to much $$$ at a plating shop just on old plumbing parts, claw foot tub legs and all the fixings for a bath & kitchen.

In reply to your #7 post "I was actually thinking of some of the parts on the stove though."

Your call, but if the grates where the flames burn are not broken, burnt and splintered metal go for it, other wise I would not waste the $$.

I’ll have to look into finding a place that does that in my area, and get a quote. I like that idea, it would probably look sharp done. Thanks for the good idea.
