Number 9, Number 9...

#8 seems to be the most common skillet size to be found. It makes sense that there were more of the most useful sizes sold to people who were only buying open stock and not sets. Along with #8s, the 3, 6, 10, and 12 were the sizes people appeared to choose most often. Odd then, that in recent weeks, I have run across three #9s, all examples of sought-after configurations, and all in really nice condition.

I recently got a hold of 2 9s as well.

A Lodge with the raised 9 on the handle single notch was given to me. (a hair line fracture and a chip at that fracture on the lip) :-/

And I just got a Griswold LBL Slant EPU with Heat Ring at a flea market, but it was cracked as well after I cleared all the crud off. :headpop:

Ah well, better luck next go round I suppose.

My second real Indian. I've also got a fake No.4..

I've seen a couple "Indians" that look real, only if you look at the underside of the handle, it's filled in. Any insight on this?? See Below.......

If it's a fake, it's a pretty nice one. This is a No. 9. I've only seen fakes with radically different handles. Never one with a handle that looks correct from the top but fake from the underside.
