Obtained this dutch oven and after getting most of the (goopy!) crud off it it and while figuring out the manufacturer (thank you CIC!) - I think it's a 60s BSR "Pioneer" - I saw this on the bottom of the pot:
It's a phillips head screw or bolt. Now I've read here that one way to fix a pinhole, is to drill the hole out, run a tap through it, put in the appropriate size bolt and grind. But when I look real hard on the inside of the pot, I don't see anything other then cast iron. With steel wool I've scrubbed the area inside of the pot where the screw would be and there is nothing there to see.
The other thing I notice is that they use a phillips head bolt to attach the knob on the lid:
I don't know what to think about it. Anybody see something like this before? It's a first for me.
