The sides are hammered, much like copper ware. No markings, not even a recessed molder's mark. Any suggestions for identifying?

pictures would help.

Lots of manufacturers of hollow ware made hammered pieces... the most common I see are lodge (like the 4 in 1... and there are no markings on the bottom portion of that)... otherwise Chicago Hardware and Foundry is kind of known for their hammered pieces... but are usually marked in some fashion.

Thank you, I will post a photo later. The handle has 3 small dots on the underside. Perhaps this will help
