Oold Time BSR's

The BSR reference link that JMoss posted helped me I.D. these couple older Red Mountain BSR skillets. Not so often you run across these (unless you're JMoss) and even more unlikely that you will find a matching lid with the same numbers as the skillet. The #8 _ B skillet & Lid are bot from the early 30's or maybe before and the 5 AN is also. These markings are "free hand" and not die cast as most C.I. were. I just happened to have a more modern (5X) Red Mountain (shown) that also tells me they were different in sizes. The 5AN measures 8 3/4" pour spout to pour spout & the 5X measures 8 1/4" PS to PS. I also have a #8 "modern" Red Mountain pan which measures 11 1/4" PS to PS where as the 8_B pan measures 11 3/8". What's so strange is the lids I have for each of the #8's will interchange with very little play.
Anyway...Click on the below link and check them out. Even though the older 8_n cooking surface is pitted it still cooks good and no sticking issues (so far).

Nice early type BSR's. I've two I use # 8 to sear steak and a #7 sees cornbread, brownies and occasionally a pie. Oh now that's just great, now I'm thinking about brownies. And I just so happen to have box in the kitchen. Ok off to the kitchen.

I do have a salted caramel brownie from scratch recipe I've been wanting to try but that's for another day.
