Picked this up at The local fleatique for $25. I’ve picked up a couple of other vintage pans from this same shop for until $20. I think the owner prices them so reasonably because they come in so crusty and ugly, but so far they all cleaned up like nicely. Don’t know if these would have originally been sold together or if someone pieced them together, but it was being sold as a skillet with lid. It was a little crusty but cleaned up nicely. They seem to have very reasonable prices on the small selection of cast iron pans that filter through their shop. This and the WagnerWare 5 star skillet set for $30 back in 2003 are my best cast iron finds and both are getting plenty of kitchen use, even from my wife who thought she hated cast iron pans because in her experience with new production CI they stuck so bad and were hard to clean. She was pleasantly surprised when I showed her how these smooth bottom vintage pans cook so nice, don’t stick and are easy to clean. She now uses them regularly.

yeah, you stole that pair. the shops around here, even if they were dirty, would have $75 on the skillet and $100 on the lid.

The dating of each makes it likely they were purchased together or as a set. A later version of the cover has two patent dates, the added one in the ring below the original.
