Pitting on the cooking surface

The #5 has some pitting on the inner surface, which I figured it would. It had a bit of rust, but a few days in the lye bath and a couple vinegar soaks, as well as a good scrub with a SS Chore Boy got it out.



I can't get a good shot of the pitting, but it does cause a bit of sticking. Will the sticking cease through more use? Or is this pan toast?
 
Is the photo showing pitting with rust still in it or stuck-on food residue? To answer your question, though, one of my best daily users is also the most pitted pan I ever bought.
