I won a box of camping gear at an auction last week, and one of the items was a chicken fryer. The only marking on it is a diamond with a capital letter "d" inside. It has an outside heat ring and is bigger than any of my other chicken fryers and about a quarter inch deeper. Any ideas on the maker? The box also contained a vintage Coleman pocket stove, which made my $8.50 winning bid well worth it!

That would be the assumption if it was a number in a diamond. Would need a pic to see if the heat ring has the distinctive profile.

OK, I'm back. I agree that it must be a Chicago Foundry. What has me stumped is the letter, rather than a number, inside the diamond. The dimensions are: 9" across the bottom, 11" wide across the top, 11 5/8" ear to ear amd 3 1/4" deep.
