Please tell me I did the right thing ...

I walked away from this "raised 8 - one notch - Arc Lodge". It would have been the perfect match to the raised 8 arc Modge lid I bought last week.

But the guy wanted $36.95 for it and wouldn't come down.

He also claimed it was "pre-1910" ... so it was a miracle skillet.

Shoulda bought it. (Assuming not warped, cracked, chipped, pitted, fire damaged.)

Just smile, nod, and say, "Oh really? Wow!" It usually works out better.

I was afraid you would say that. It had a little pitting, but not bad. Several of his other pieces seemed to be fire damaged but this one seemed to be ok.

I'm with Doug on this one . Looks like a nice old piece to me .

I think we've all done this though . Walked away from something because of the price and then found out after some research that we should jumped on it .

I know I have anyway lol

Walking away when you probably shouldn't have has one advantage: it didn't cost any money. The same can't be said about not walking away when you probably should have.
