Power supply

I've used my battery charger to clean up some Cast iron, it's on loan to somebody that forgot to return when he was suppose to. I do have a couple AC/DC power supplies, 120VAC to 12VDC. and 120 to 24VDC
The 12VDC #1 is rated @ 1 amp and the #2 power supply is rated @ 8.2 amp.
Would the 24VDC work? Those are rated at 2.0 and 4.0 amp. These are power supplies that were used for control circuits on machinery that were discarded.
So, would any of these work?
I'll be at least a couple of weeks (or more) before I get back my battery charger.

Short answer: yes, they will all work.

First choice for me would be the 12VDC @ 8.2 amps. Second choice would be 24VDC @ 4 amps. Last choice would be 12VDC @ 1 amp.

Having an ammeter (like what's on most manual car battery chargers) is a really nice bonus for quickly assessing the condition of the anodes and electrolyte, as well as the assurance that you aren't overloading the power supply. If you don't mind not having that luxury then yeah, that 8.2A unit is the best of the bunch.
