Production years on Favorite?

Looking for some idea as to when the different styles of Favorite skillets were made. Page 286 of the Blue Book shows two side-by-side, one with the standard(?) logo and the other with the "smiley" logo. You can see a difference in the handle reinforcements of the two and I imagine there are some other differences.

The book lists them both as being made in the 1916-1935 range, along with just about all the other pans Favorite made.

Were they made concurrently, along with the "Miami" logo, as different quality levels, or did one succeed the other?

Thanks as always for any input.

There apparently isn't enough information available to nail down at what points the TM revisions occured. Miami pieces were their economy brand, not part of the regular line.

Thanks Doug.

I knew the Miami brand was economy level (I tried to study up on everything in this site when I was struggling to get thru another cold Maine winter).

So just wondering if the TM differences are all about level of quality. Another one of life's mysteries.

No. Even though Favorite was only in existence a relatively short time, it was right during a period of transition for skillet design. It would appear that, like their competitors, FPW was updating its TM design as well, from plain block lettering to stylized logos. My old FPW #12 is of the outside heat ring design. With a handle reinforcement pad and reinforced lip, and a thin light casting, you'd swear it was an Erie if it didn't say Favorite on the bottom. It has their stylized smiley logo, but you can also see an outline around it where the older block markings were excised.
