rare find?

I recently bought a cast aluminum skillet with lid made by Griswold . it has A999 special on it made in erie,and I cant find out anything about it can someone help?

I would say if you carefully refinish it that it won't hurt the value at all...but I'd read the info on this site before I started...it's a lot of work but the results are amazing. I have an A777 Special.
 
Just a thought from my past: A good quality old aluminum pan which still has the wood handle on it sounds pretty special to me... That may be because I grew up with a certain small skillet that my dad liked to use, but the handle was long gone by the time I was born--didn't stop Pop from using it though! (I admit I was raised in the "Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without" school!)
