Seasoning other than CI?

I just rescued a charcoal grill. It is in very good shape, except for the cooking grate, which isn't real bad, just left out too long. It'll clean up, but I was wondering if it would take a coat of seasoning. It is probably stainless(I haven't cleaned it yet). Anybody try this yet? Or am I thinking too much?

It seems like all types of steel will take a coating of seasoning fairly well, even chrome plated which might be what you have.

I have a grate from an old gas grill that I use over a fire occasionally. It rusted, so I wire brushed and seasoned it in the oven. It works great and is non-stick.

Even if it takes the seasoning it wont stay. The heat will burn it off. Just bring it to temp before cooking on it and itll stay non stick. If your worried, spray it when youre done to protect it.

Sorry for being so long. I've been dealing with a bit of snow.

So, it looks like I'll give it a try. As soon as I get defrosted.
