Seasoning Problem

I seasoned three cornsticks and on each of them have some black on them. Any thoughts of what I did wrong? I used bacon grease to season.

Maybe there was some residue left before the bacon grease was applied that caused the different coloration. I don't see anything that would cause concern, it should blend in over usage and time.
