Found one of these today. Never seen one before, is it complete or is there other pieces like a lid that goes with it? are they collectible? rare? is it worth the $75 asking price?

Here is the patent for the design. A cover is shown and described as part of the invention. No assignment to Silver noted. It was not uncommon to see pieces by more than one maker inscribed with the same patent, though.

assuming i go back and its still there, and i cant find the correct lid in the pile of stuff, is it worth anything as-is?

I love the unique items, definitely worth picking up. $75 is a bit much for my taste, hopefully you can get them down a bit.

If it ever had a lid, I would assume it's long separated from the broiler. Scarce. Interesting markings. $75 may not be unrealistic. Always ask for a better price is my motto.
