My 'favorite' skillet seems peculiar. 8 almost under heat ring and unfamiliar lettering. Real? Age?

Not the Favorite of Piqua, OH, nor "The Favorite" of Columbus, GA, but a Canadian. The C&C for Chown & Cunningham has been obliterated by sulfur pitting. Or it was made by Smart's after they bought out C&C.
