Skillet ID?

Hi all,

I'm glad I found this forum. I have been cooking on a modern Lodge skillet for a few years now, but have recently started reading about, and become very interested in, vintage CI. I made my first purchase on Etsy this week. I bought a No. 8 skillet to cook on (photos attached), and it seems great for that, but I'm also curious as to whether it was correctly identified by the seller -- he had it listed as an early Lodge from around 1910. I appreciate everyone's thoughts!

First of all, welcome to the forum! According to the The Book Of Wagner And Griswold also known around here as "The Red Book" it was made by Lodge circa 1900-1910. The book also says it "may date back to the Blacklock Foundry". That's a beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks! I paid $42 plus shipping for it, which I think is reasonable, especially since I'll have it forever. I just need to season it a few more times and I can start cooking! I love the light weight (3.8 lbs, according to my scale).

Now to find a vintage No. 10 to replace my modern Lodge...
