Some of My Collection So Far.

Some of you may know from my previous posts that I have only been aware of the CI world for a short time now.

About 2 months ago I saw an interesting skillet with a fancy handle, I liked it so I bought it. After some investigating, I found out it was from the 1880's. That single pan hooked me, now I have about 100 pieces.

About half of those I bought from one guy that was moving to the Philippines with his wife and had to sell his collection. At the time, I wasn't sure what I was buying but he seemed like a nice older gentleman and the price we agreed on was an average of a little more than $5 per piece. I figured I could get most of my money back if I decided to resell them so I took a chance.

Here is some of what I bought.

Griswold Slant #10, #8, #7

If you got all those for an average of just over $5 a piece I officially do not like you at all :icon_rofl:

Thank you for the comments everyone, and Lloyd B, I won't take it personal.

Knowing what I have learned, mostly here, I feel very lucky. I was just in the right place at the right time and talked to the right person that gave me a phone number.

I just set up my lye tank, so now I have a lot of cleaning to do.

just fyi... the lid on your #8 dutch oven is an iron mountain (still made by griswold, but not necessarily the correct one for that DO.)
like everyone else, I'm jealous of the score.. those pieces for those prices is what we are all looking for. I really like the heat ring slant skillets...

Thank you, D_Madden, I was aware of that not being the correct lid. The Iron Mountain lid actually came from my mother, which came from my grandmother on a BSR 8-B chicken fryer. The lid that came on the DO was a Wagner Ware (not in picture) that I can use on one of my #8 Sidney -O- skillets.
