Southern Mystery?

Bottom gating isn't consistent with SMS. This appears to be a copy of one by someone with inferior casting skills. The dents/grooves are likely from aluminum patterns of the same size being stacked.
 
I have a few Wapaks with those marks under the handle. Some call it saw tooth, but I have no clue why they are on some and not others.
