Spencer FDNY 1857

I was recently visiting an antique store in NW Indiana and came across a small cast iron item, "Spencer FDNY 1857". The item description in the case mentioned it was a salesman item. I cannot find any information on Spencer cast iron, can anyone tell me about this item and or the Spencer name?

What type of item is it? There was a Spencer Foundry in Guilford, Connecticut. Just a guess without seeing the item but with the 1857 date it is possibly an item made much later to commemorate the opening of the foundry.

I'm thinking $150-200 is way (read crazy) strong on this. The one for $18 is a relisting that didn't even sell at that price.

Thanks Doug, the one in the antique store was marked at 100 firm, glad I went for the Griswold Crispy 282 it was 1/2 the spencer $. It is smaller than the 262 I have, quite happy with the Griswold find. Thanks again for your knowledge and reply.

The only small Griswold marked 282 I'm aware of is a really bad fake. You say it's like your 262 cornstick pan?

$50. Ouch. You need to see if it can be returned, at least for store credit. Show them the fakes webpage.
