Spider Pan

Hey Everyone! I just got into cast iron cooking after wanting to do so, for a few years now! So, after receiving my first one, this past Christmas, I'm hooked, so since my Wife and I were down in Mt. Dora FL, this past weekend, I picked up two pans for what I thought, were Great prices! Anyways, I picked up a pre 1960's corn bread pan (little triangles) for $10 and then, a pre 1880's three legged (Spider?) deep pan, for $45! Can anyone provide a little more history for me, on this? Much appreciated! Thanks...
PS: Don't know why my photos are still to large for this, so here's the fb post.

No pictures or link came through for me, but very few of the old spiders had any distinguishable markings and unless yours does, it probably has limited collector value. That being said, they are awesome to use. I don't know how well seasoned your cornbread skillet is, but my advice would be to warm it up in the oven while the oven is preheating and add about 1/4 teaspoon of bacon grease or the fat of you choice to each triangle making sure all metal is wet. If there is any excess fat left in the triangle, pour the batter right and top and it will be even better. Happy cooking!
