Spider Skillet

This jewel is by no means the prettiest piece of CI but it is the oldest piece I own. According to the GB (Grey Book - Early American Hollow Ware) it is an American cast between 1780 & 1800 P. 129 of the GB. The pitting is both inside and out but the legs are in really great shape for a piece 200 + years old.
I give thanks to Bonnie Scott for directing me to some of her treasured hunting grounds or I may have never landed this piece.
Thanks in advance.

I like that skillet! I have 3 spider skillets. One has the handle broken off, one has a pin hole, and one has a crack. I hope that one day I find one not pitted to death and complete! Although they are part of history Pitts and all.
I do love these pieces of history! The one that is cracked favors yours. The crack is opposite the handle, I think someone dropped it and it landed on that side. I still plan on using mine at some point, when I get my life back, been working 6-days a week with an hour and 40 minute commute one way since last April!

You are very welcome Michael. I know in DougD's guide to picking he says two sets of eyes are better, it's true, especially when both of those people are used to picking iron.
