Sportsman 3052 X

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could give me info on this sportsman? It has Sportsman printed under the right handle and 3052 with an X stamped in. Is it older or newer? It is flat and relatively clean with no pits or cracks. It is on sale for 43 bucks and I passed on it. I was wondering if it is a really good deal and if I should go back. All thoughts are appreciated.

That is a BSR Sportsman Fish Fryer, designed to go with their Sportsman Grill (today manufactured by Lodge).

Markings indicate it's 1st generation, which dates it anywhere between the 1930s and late 1960s.

I can't speak to its value / how good or bad a deal it is.

$43 is not a bad price. The lids for the later generation fryers will not fit it.
