square skillet

Hello again, have this square fairly deep pan or skillet. it has sqsk on the bottom for I assume square skillet. any idea who the maker is? what would a square skillet be used for?

Lodge, after early 1960s. Square skillets, I suppose, offered a little extra capacity over a round skillet of the same cross dimension. Or bacon fit better, or?

I could be wrong but I think I remember those pans being sold well into the 1980s by Lodge and the markings are what I remember. I was not collecting iron cookware until starting in 1968.
