A couple of months ago, I bought my first piece of cast iron at an estate sale for $2.00. It is a 1940-1960 Lodge #3. I used some apple cider vinegar to remove rust. I only had enough to submerge half of the skillet, so I soaked one side and then flipped it over to soak the other side. It has been in a lye bath for quite some time, but a slight stain remains around the middle of the outside.
Anything I can do to remove the stain?
