Stirring Electrolysis Tank

I am wondering if I need to stir the solution in my electrolysis tank before I start each new piece? On another note, the sacrificial anode, I've been scraping the yuck off, some times sanding it down. I have not seen any of these issues posted anywhere and was wanting to know how other people handle this.

It won't hurt to stir, but I think the electrolyte should stay in solution so it's not really necessary.

I use a wire cup brush on my grinder to remove the rust and gunk from my anode (a junky chinese skillet), takes just a couple of minutes and gets it back to good working order.

I fought grungy anodes for about two years before I broke down and bought carbon plates. They do not collect crud. They clean many times better than metal and much much faster. I bought mine on Ebay and highly recommend them.

It definitely helps to stir the solution from time to time. I usually do it between each skillet. Graphite plates as an anode are the way to go. I used to use scrap steel with the same issues you are having. Switched to graphite and never have to clean my anode again. Also, the graphite shows little to no wear after 25 or sl skillets.:icon_thumbsup:
