Sunday afternoon shopping

Had a good day. Found a Griswold 273 enameled cornbread pan in real good shape for $8. I gave in and bought two waffle irons I had been looking at for months, one Puritan #8 and one WWSO #8. The lady I bought the cornbread pan from had a #10 Lodge DO that looked almost new for $25. It is marked "made is USA" so its obviously not old or collectable but it has a slightly inset heat ring with no notches. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any DOs' made after 1960 that had a heat ring. The price was right so I bought it to be a user. Anyone know anything about that heat ring?

Still having difficulties with Google +. I hope these links work.

Yes, as I mentioned it is a Lodge. The question I was trying to ask is when did lodge put a heat ring on what I consider a modern piece? I have Lodge DOs' from the pre-Made in USA period and they dont have heat rings.

It sounded like you weren't sure it was a Lodge since it had a HR. I would say probably 1950s and later. I usually think of Lodges having a heat ring more often than not.

I got a do #12, post 1950 it says made USA and I bought it for same reason heat ring,I cooked 8 pounds of beacon and it worked good.:icon_thumbsup:
