I don’t love buying cast iron on eBay because of surprises. My latest purchase of a teapot came with an extra rusted out hole filled with lint, a chipped spout due to poor packaging and a warped bottom that extended beyond the short legs. It was also 1” larger than stated, an issue for it’s chosen display location. I am now an owner of a Free teapot I don’t want.
As I looked for a replacement on eBay I found a good candidate but the bottom had a red glow. Thanks to this site it immediately became a pass.
It was decided that a new import from Amazon would serve my needs with less hassle so it was ordered. This decision was made with the confidence gleaned from the knowledge and information from this site. The knowledge and information here can keep one from doing stupid things, but only if applied. Information here can even help one when it is time to buy a new stove on which to use your cast iron hollowware.
